Regardless of how they decide to get it out there, “Convention” will have longevity as a descendant of the Drew, Pennebaker, Leacock ‘Direct Cinema’ tradition. In my estimation, it may be one of those films that will gain greater appreciation as time elapses and the film is distanced from the media’s love-affair with President Obama that tends to fog up the lens.
